What You Need to Know

What is the tournament's COVID-19 Policy?

As we know, COVID-19 Policy may changes from time to time.  The Park District has the rights to cancel the tournament at any time due to COVID-19.

In the meantime, we ask you to please consider the followings:

  • Stay home if you are sick

  • Wear face covering properly when not practicing social distance

  • Practice social distance of 6 feet

  • Wash your hands with soap or use hand sanitizers 

  • Return tournament ball to registration table to be sanitized

Why are there two different levels, recreational and competitive?

Pickleball is relatively new to some of you. Many of you may not have yet know or received your pickleball rating. In order to provide you with optimal fun experiences is to offer two different levels.

Recreational level- players who are still developing their pickleball skills and would like a chance to try and win. 

​

Competitive level- players who are skilled and want to win. 

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

No, you do not need a partner. On the day of the event, each of you will be given an assigned number within your level. In each game, you will have a different partner. The points earned in that game will be given to you individually. 

​

For example, you are player 1:

  • Game 1:  partner with Player 2

  • Game 2:  partner with Player 3

  • Game 3:  partner with Player 4

​

Upon completion of approximately 5 games, it will determine your seed in the bracket. 

​

In the bracket, you will have the same partner in the play-off. 

​

For example, partners in play-off:

  •       Seed 1 with Seed 6

  •       Seed 2 with Seed 5

  •       Seed 3 with Seed 4

What does registration fee covers?

The fee covers 5 round robin games per person, guaranteed. You will also receive a goodie bag. 

​

For recreational level, there will be awards.

​

For competitive level, there will be cash prizes, based on 30 players. 

​

What is the refund policy?

In the event of the cancellation,  the refundable policy is


  • By April 30th, you will get 90% refunded; the remaining 10% goes to administrative cost. 

  • By May 28th, you will get 80% refunded; the remaining 20% goes to administrative cost. 

  • After May 29th, there will be no refunds.

It will take 2 weeks for a refund to be issued.  

Can under 18 years old play?

No, we do not permit anyone under age 18 to participate in this tournament due to liability.

Will you provide paddle and ball?

Bring your own paddle. It is also for health and safety reasons.  We will provide and sanitize Franklin X-40 tournament balls.

Will you sell or provide any food & drink?

Due to COVID & Health safety, we will not be selling or providing any food or drinks.  Bring your own food/drink.

What do I need to bring?

Due to COVID & Health Safety, please bring your own of the followings:

  • Paddle

  • Food & plenty of drink 

  • Cooler

  • Lawn chair

  • Essentials (sunblock, hat, sunglasses, lip balm, change of clothes, etc)
