· PARKING: If the Fabrinni Park parking lot is full, you can park by the school, Mac Arthur International (address: 1800 Chippendale Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL). There is a walking path between the park and the school. See map. At night, the Fabrinni parking lot and the walking path are DARK. Bring your flashlight, if you wish.
· TIME: Please be on time. The tournament schedule depends on YOU being on time and be present. All games are in a timely manner and coordinated. If one person is late, it impacts EVERYTHING. We each are responsible for punctuality in order to have a successful tournament.
· REGISTRATION: Please check-in at the registration table. You will get a goody bag and t-shirt. You will be informed of your pool, player number, and which court. More details to be followed.
· GAME SCHEDULE: Be prepared to play approximately 5+ games, back-to-back in the round robin. You will have a different partner to team with in each round robin game. Earning your own points will determine your seeding for the play-off.
The playoff bracket is a single elimination. Based on the round robin points, you will then have the SAME partner in the entire play-off.
· WEATHER: Dress appropriately for the weather. We will not play in the rain.
· FOOD/DRINKS: There is NO concession or water station on premise. PLEASE bring PLENTY of ice, drink and food to stay hydrate and fueled up all day/night. Cooler is strongly encouraged. You may or may not have time for a quick run to fast food or grocery store between games. The closest convenient store is “Neighborhood Pantry” (Address: 1469 Glen Lake Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169)
· BRING: Your own paddle, canopy, lawn chair, hat, sunglasses, sunblock, OTC medicine, etc.
· RESTROOMS: There are two port-a-potty near the basketball court, adjacent to a locked bathroom facility.
· PHOTOS: We will do a group picture and have a historical record of first-ever Deaf Midwest Pickleball Tournament. Also, some of the sponsors wanted a photo with their products.
· WATCH THE GAME: You may watch others playing only from the tennis court side. NO chairs allowed inside the court. The entire court has windscreen, which blocks most of the vision from outside of the court.
· ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Like you and for the love of the game, all of the committee are also playing in this tournament. The committee will do their best to assist you when and if they are not playing a game. There will be volunteers available to answer questions/concerns you may have.
· MEDICAL ATTENTION: The closest medical care is St. Alexius Medical Center, 1555 Barrington Road, Hoffman Estates, IL
